<p>Valley Laughs – Stand-up Comedy Show<br />Friday, August 7th, 7:30 PM Showtime<br />The "Laugh Lounge" opens at 6:30 PM for adult beverages</p> <p> </p> <p><br />Smit Show Comedy, in partnership with Sonoma Community Center, will present a night of stand-up comedy with headliner Kiry Shabazz, featuring Sean McKenzie, and hosted by Cody Smit. Tickets are just $25. This event sells out, so advance ticket purchases are encouraged.</p> <p> </p> <p>Headliner<br />Kiry Shabazz<br />Kiry Shabazz is a stand-up comedian based in Los Angeles, with roots in the Midwest and a career launched in Northern California. He has built a reputation as an instant crowd favorite, both online and at live events, thanks to his relatable and engaging comedy style.</p> <p> </p> <p>Kiry has achieved notable success, including winning the StandUp NBC Competition and making his late-night debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. He has also appeared on Comedy Central's "Bill Burr Presents: The Ringers" and Epix's "Unprotected Sets." Additionally, he has been recognized as a "New Face of Comedy" by Just For Laughs (JFL) and has performed at the JFL Comedy Festival. Kiry also had a role in Good Fortune (2025) starring Keanu Reeves and Seth Rogan, directed by Aziz Ansari.</p> <p> </p> <p>Featured comedian<br />Sean McKenzie<br />Sean McKenzie tells smart jokes with a big, dumb smile on his face. He tells these jokes at comedy clubs (San Jose Improv), on TV (Viceland), at festivals (SF Sketchfest), dive bars, bowling alleys, and during instrumental breaks of long karaoke songs.</p> <p> </p> <p>Host<br />Cody Smit<br />The founding father of Smit Show Comedy. Before doing stand-up comedy, Santa Rosa native Cody Smit started out as a rapper under the stage name, C-Smitty. After realizing he was tone-deaf and possessed no rhythm, he gave up on his dreams of becoming a white rapper and took to stand-up comedy. His first gig was at a slam poetry open mic and consisted of him jotting down jokes about an ex-girlfriend on a bar napkin. His would-be set quickly escalated into a dreary tirade about her infidelity. Before he knew it, Smit was producing and hosting comedy shows throughout Sonoma County. At 22 years old, Smit learned the art of what it truly means to "bomb" on stage in the preliminary rounds of the San Francisco Comedy Competition. From then on, he vowed never to do the same.</p> <p> </p> <p>Smit Show Comedy is the North Bay's top-rated stand-up series, hand-curated and hosted by Bay Area comic Cody "Smit".
