A series of five guided community photography walks will take place across Medway’s five towns.

These walks encourage residents to explore their local area through a creative lens while discovering the stories, heritage and community spaces that contribute to Medway’s identity.

Photography provides an accessible way for people to observe their surroundings more closely, encouraging curiosity, conversation and a greater appreciation for everyday places that are often overlooked. Participants will be invited to document architecture, public spaces, local landmarks, street scenes, nature and moments of community life while reflecting on what makes each town unique.

The walks are designed to be relaxed, welcoming and suitable for all levels of experience. Participants are encouraged to attend whether they are professional photographers, students, hobbyists or simply interested in spending time exploring their local area. Images can be captured using either a digital camera or a smartphone, ensuring that the activity remains accessible to everyone.

Throughout each walk, participants will have opportunities to share ideas, learn basic photographic techniques, develop confidence in visual storytelling and build new social connections with others who share an interest in creativity and community.
