About This Event

On Thursday 6 August 2026, children aged between five and ten are invited to join artist Ruth at the Water of Leith Conservation Trust and Visitor Centre in Edinburgh for a creative afternoon. Running from 1.30pm, the session encourages young participants to explore the woods and river, drawing inspiration from the natural surroundings before crafting their own artist’s book. Using drawing, collage, and other simple techniques, children can create a unique keepsake. Adults are welcome to stay and assist, transforming the activity into a shared family experience. All materials are provided, and the workshop is designed to be accessible for varying skill levels. Tickets are priced at £7.00 per child, offering an affordable and engaging way to connect with art and nature along the Water of Leith.
