Every August, Edinburgh transforms into an explosion of comedy, theater, and street performance. But the Fringe didn't start with state funding or red carpets, it began in 1947 with eight uninvited theater companies who gatecrashed the official festival, set up makeshift stages, and changed culture forever.
Led by a local arts&history nerds, this 90-minute story-led walking tour takes you behind the scenes of Edinburgh's Old Town. Discover how damp subterranean vaults, historic churches, and cobbled alleys launched some of the biggest names in entertainment history.
