Copita Mezcal and Tequila Festival returns to Glasgow on Saturday 22 August with a new home at Saint Luke's, marking its most ambitious Glasgow edition to date.

After previous years at The Briggait, Copita moves to Saint Luke's for 2026, taking over the full venue and spilling out into Bain Square. The festival will run across two sessions — 2pm to 5pm and 6pm to 9pm — followed by an afterparty with DJs from 9pm until midnight.

Known for championing the craft, culture and complexity of agave spirits, Copita brings together producers, brands and drinkers for an immersive tasting experience that welcomes both seasoned enthusiasts and curious newcomers.

This year's festival will feature a wide range of tasting stands staffed by agave experts, who will guide guests through more than 100 samples of mezcal and tequila, sharing knowledge, stories and pours throughout the day. All tastings are included in the ticket price, with no additional charge to sample at the stands.

Each ticket holder will receive a traditional clay copita on arrival to use for tasting during their session and to take home afterwards — a signature part of the Copita experience. The festival will also feature a cocktail bar, a discount bottle shop and a programme of masterclasses for anyone keen to explore mezcal and tequila in greater depth (available at an additional charge).

New for this year, The Winged Ox will serve as a break-out bar, diner and beer garden exclusively for Copita ticket holders, serving its acclaimed hot food alongside pints and other drinks, giving guests every reason to settle in and enjoy the full day

Why do we have a restoration Levy? Put very simply, our restoration levy is an additional charge added to your ticket price which is directly invested back into the venue. This money is used for critical maintenance, repairs, and preservation efforts to ensure the long-term sustainability of the building. As the 3rd oldest church building in Glasgow, dating back to 1836, Saint Luke's requires ongoing care and special restoration to maintain its historic character and facilities. This levy will enable us to fund essential projects that will safeguard the venue's future as a vibrant hub for live music and community events.

If you would like to be kept up to date on progress with how we are using this fund then please follow us on social media @stlukesglasgow, and sign up to our mailing list where we will send out quarterly updates on the improvements that your donations are helping us make.
