This massive night of music at The Assembly at Glasgow School of Art Union merges deep traditional roots with high-energy club culture, taking you from live experimental fusion straight into the early hours. MAL is a Glasgow-based band that blends underground electronic sounds with traditional music in a whole new light. This clarsach-led group creates a unique, unheard sound by seamlessly merging traditional instruments with hard-hitting, euphoric beats from garage, house, and jungle. Their headline set features the launch of their debut album CBAD, a culmination of the shared emotion and rhythm between traditional and underground dance music that they have been performing live since forming in 2024. Opening the night is The Nexus Project, an exploration of contemporary and ancient Highland Bagpipe music through original compositions and arrangements by Bede Patterson. Their performance surveys the inextricable links between early and modern bagpipe performance and repertoire. Closing out the night, DJs Cain and baile/baile will take over the decks to keep the dance floor moving into the early morning. This is an 18+ standing event held at The Assembly at Glasgow School of Art Union.
