About This Event

Community led walking tours exploring Glasgow through lived experience, migration and belonging. What stories live in the streets we walk every day? Walking Our Stories is a series of community-led walking tours exploring Glasgow through the stories of migration and belonging shared by people who have made the city their home. Each walk is shaped and led by Community Storytelling Leaders, who share personal stories connected to place. As you explore the neighbourhoods of Pollokshields and Govanhill, you'll hear reflections on migration, work, faith, family and belonging, offering a deeper understanding of the communities that have helped shape the city. This is not a traditional guided tour. Rather than focusing on landmarks or historical facts, it invites you to slow down, listen with curiosity and experience Glasgow through the voices of those whose stories are woven into its fabric. Whether you've lived in Glasgow all your life, are new to the city, or are simply curious to see it from a different perspective, you'll leave with a richer appreciation of Pollokshields, Govanhill and the communities that continue to shape them. Content guidance The stories shared during this walk are based on the personal experiences of our Community Storytelling Leaders. They may touch on sensitive topics including racism, discrimination and violence. We ask participants to listen with curiosity, empathy and respect for one another and for the experiences being shared. If, at any point, you need to step away from the group, just let one of the Walk Leaders know. Practical information Duration: Approximately 90 minutes. Please wear comfortable footwear and dress appropriately for the ever changing Scottish weather. The tour starts at Pollokshields Library, 30 Leslie Street, Glasgow G41 2LF and will end at Locavore, 349 Victoria Road, Glasgow G42 7SA. Accessibility We want these walks to be welcoming and inclusive. If you have any access requirements or questions before booking, please get in touch on info@pathscotland.org.uk and we'll do our best to support your participation. About PATH PATH (Scotland) is a national charity working to tackle racial inequality by creating opportunities, developing leadership and supporting greater representation across housing, employment and public life. This event is part of the Glasgow 2026 Festival programme, funded by Glasgow Life.
