About This Event

This outing follows an Everyday Histories trail at Oxburgh Estate. It explores the lives and stories of three members of the Estate staff who worked there during the twentieth century in both the gardens and the house.

Discover the stories and lives of 3 members of Estate staff, who lived and worked here in the 20th Century in the Gardens and the House. Follow their story trails on one of 3 routes around the Gardens.

Join 'Ruth's Route', reading the stories of Ruth English who worked as a housemaid at Oxburgh. Then pick up on 'Winifred's Way', the stories of Winifred Cooper, who ran the family nursery and was the main housekeeper. Finally, follow in 'Fred's footsteps', with the stories of Fred Greef, former Head gardener for the Bedingfelds and later the National Trust.
