If you were to take the jangliness of the 1960s West Coast, the warmth of the Laurel Canyon troubadours, and the brooding melodies of the English Folk revival; mash it all together, it might sound something like Visions of Albion. Formed in 2018, the two native Liverpudlians pull from a vast array of inspirations to create a sound that is truly authentic and original. The pairing of Sam Shield’s evocative lead vocals with Daniel Ryan’s intricate fingerstyle guitar playing creates a smorgasbord of sound that feels as fresh as it does familiar. Add to that the soaring harmonies and it’s clear to see why they have become such a mainstay of the local music scene. Currently recording their much-anticipated debut album, their unique brand of folk-psychedelia has been described as something that “transports you back to a late 60s daydream”

Shadow Captain is the brainchild of Liverpool singer-songwriter and musician Stuart Todd . Starting out playing in folk clubs and acoustic nights, Stuart worked with classical guitarist and composer Neil Campbell in the acoustic duo Campbell Todd . He began fronting his own group The Freebies ; to promote his first solo album A Question Of Time , before the formation of Three Minute Hero and eventually Shadow Captain .  Shadow Captain recorded the albums April Moon and Artefacts with top producer and engineer Andy Fernihough . The tracks Hey Django and The Room's Too Bare have received radio airplay on BBC Music Introducing . Following a change of direction, Shadow Captain recorded the German concept album Abflug , which was released in 2024 to critical acclaim. This was immediately followed up by the French album Abbesses in 2025
