About This Event

Theatre Royal Stratford East will host Bloodsport - After Helen of Troy on 31 July 2026. The play is an original work by award-winning writer Ava Pickett and takes the audience back to the end of the Trojan War.

From award-winning writer Ava Pickett comes a brand-new original play that takes you back to the bloody end of the Trojan War. Helen of Troy returns home to Sparta after the end of the war fought in her name, and through the reality of her homecoming comes a fierce, heartbreaking story of friendship, motherhood, and rage. Lisa Spirling makes her directorial debut at Stratford East with clever, raw, and brutal play about the woman at the heart of one of the most famous wars in history.
