About Trainspotting - the musical

Trainspotting - the musical at Haymarket, London brings Irvine Welsh’s story back to the stage 30 years after the film’s release. Written by Irvine Welsh, with music and lyrics by Stephen McGuinness and Irvine Welsh, and directed and developed by Caroline Jay Ranger, it follows the same world of Renton, Sick Boy, Begbie, Spud, Tommy and Kelly.

The production features an ensemble cast and a live band, with tracks from the film alongside original songs. It is presented as a new musical version of the story, set for the West End stage.
