DOUBLEHEAD LIVE begins here!  Created to champion the ambitious, adventurous and experimental corners of the underground music scenes, our first event showcases three bands who thrive on pushing those musical boundaries:

Chekhov’s Gun

All the way from Scotland come Metal 2 the Masses Scotland winners: Chekhov’s Gun. Contorting many forms of metal with their classical and romantic influences, Chekhov’s Gun have managed to form their own unique progressive resonance. Their striking sound is matched by a visceral live show, fronted by a flamboyant Lithuanian ballroom dancer, creating an energy that is both aggressive and theatrically creepy.

Contraptions

Formed in Sheffield in 2020 with one goal only: what if we ignored every rule in metal ? Contraptions have spent the past few years gleefully answering that very question. Metal, ska, jazz, Bossa nova, surf and probably a few genres they mad up along the way all thrown into one big smorgasbord of sonic chaos. Weaving sexy saxophone lines with crushing riffs, beautiful operatic vocals alongside harsh harmonies, Contraptions give you enough musical left turns to give your sat nav a nervous breakdown.

Hell Death Fury

Hailing from the otherwise peaceful rural landscape of Wiltshire, Hell Death Fury bring their glorious wrath of skacore, metal, dub and overall silliness to the table. Think big riffs, furious offbeat skanks and beautifully shouty vocals that feel like they’ve been launched directly into your sternum. Hell Death Fury are living proof that sometimes the best way to face the musical apocalypse is to dance through it.
