About This Event

On Saturday 15 August 2026, O2 City Hall Newcastle will host a 12.30pm matinee performance of *Calendar Girls*, the stage adaptation of the true story that inspired the film. The play follows a group of women from a Yorkshire Women’s Institute who produce a nude calendar to raise funds for leukaemia research, blending humour with quiet dignity. Written by Tim Firth, the production explores themes of friendship, grief, and defiance against convention. The performance takes place in the venue’s main auditorium, which seats over 2,000. Ticket prices are available via the venue’s website, and large bags are not permitted inside.
