A six-round FIDE-rated rapid chess tournament will take place on 12 July 2026 at 13:00 in Windsor, hosted by Uxbridge Chess Club. The event will be divided into two sections, with further details available on the club’s website.
A six-round FIDE rated Rapid Tournament will be held on Sunday 12th July, 2026. Uxbridge Chess Club will host this tournament in two sections – the Open and the Major (U1600) sections. Rate of play: 10 minutes plus 5 seconds increment per move from move one. Minimum GOLD Membership: All players of the Open and the Major sections must be minimum ECF Gold members and must have FIDE ID.
Registration opens at 1:00 pm and the clock starts at 1:30 pm sharp.
Entry Fee
£25 pp for both sections. Discounted entry fee of £20 pp for the paid members of Uxbridge Chess Club.
Discount for Juniors
£15 entry fee is for all Junior players born on or after 2014.
Titled players including GM, IM, FM and CM may enter without paying prior entry fee. However, the entry fee will be deducted from the prize money only if they win any prize.
Prize Money
We are pleased to introduce a third prize for both Open & Major sections.
Open Section – 1st prize – £120; 2nd prize – £60; 3rd prize – £40
Rating prizes – U1900 – £35; U1700 – £35
Major Section – 1st prize – £120; 2nd prize – £60; 3rd prize – £40
Rating Prizes – U1400 – £35; U1200 – £35; U1000 – £35; U800 – £35
Best Female prize in the Major section – £35
In case of a tie, prize money will be shared equally and none will be entitled for more than one prize.

Please pay entry fee to Uxbridge Junior Chess Club, Sort code: 309950 Account No: 42841360 using the first and last names of the player as payment reference.
After the payment of the entry fee, please email either to Abu Hasan at abuhasan.chess@gmail.com or to Daniel Knight at UxbridgeJuniorChessClub@hotmail.com to confirm your place along with following details of the player:
1. First and Last names 2. ECF Rating Code 3. FIDE ID 4. Chosen Section 5. Name of Club if any & 6. Mobile Number
Last date of entry: Friday 10th July. and we have only 70 places to offer.
Please do not pay an entry fee after the last date without prior approval. Just email your details including ECF Code & Fide ID and wait for our approval.
The higher of July ECF and Fide rapid rating will be taken.
Standard and Blitz ratings will be considered in absence of rapid ratings.
