About This Event

The Farm Pop-up Sauna Experience takes place on 18 October 2026 at Stone Circle Pop-up in Kintore. It offers a rustic, wood-fired pop-up sauna set within a rewilding field on a working Aberdeenshire farm. Tickets are priced at £16.00.

A pop-up wood-fired sauna in the Aberdeenshire countryside — heat, cold plunges, nature and a slower way to spend time.

Stone Circle Pop-Up Sauna at Strathray Farm

Come and experience Stone Circle in its earliest form: a wood-fired pop-up sauna set within a rewilding field on a working Aberdeenshire farm, with open views across the surrounding countryside towards Bennachie.

This is intentionally a rustic, back-to-basics experience. Our sauna is housed in a wood-fired sauna tent surrounded by fields, trees and open countryside, with two cold-water plunge baths outside and a separate bell tent for changing.

Stone Circle is ultimately working towards creating a permanent nature sauna: a place built around heat, cold, landscape, community and our connection with the natural world. For now, we’re keeping things simple and putting the money we make back into developing the project.

Part of that goes beyond the sauna itself. Every visit helps fund further rewilding and regeneration of the farm, supporting our longer-term aim of creating a richer natural environment around the sauna and returning more of the land to wildlife.

Heat, cold & slowing down

Sauna bathing has a long cultural history, particularly across Finland and the Nordic and Baltic regions. Regular sauna bathing has also been associated in research with cardiovascular and other health benefits, while the immediate experience of moving between heat, cooling and rest can be deeply relaxing.

During your session, you’ll be able to move at your own pace between the wood-fired sauna, two cold-water baths and time resting outside, looking out across the fields towards Bennachie.

We’ll also share some of what we’ve learned about sauna culture, löyly and getting more from the experience than simply seeing how long you can tolerate being hot. Sauna isn’t an endurance sport.

We’ll provide drinking water and electrolytes, and there is a bell tent where you can change and leave your belongings.

What you need to bring

Please bring:

Suitable swimwear

Sandals, sliders or flip-flops

Your own drinking-water bottle

Two towels — one for drying and one to sit on inside the sauna

A warm layer, robe or changing robe for between rounds

This is Aberdeenshire, so dressing for four seasons occurring isn’t a terrible idea!

Important safety information

Sauna and cold-water exposure place additional demands on the body, so please listen to your body throughout your visit. You are never expected to remain in either the sauna or cold water for a particular length of time. Take breaks whenever you need them and stay hydrated.

We generally recommend maximum sauna rounds of around 10–15 minutes, followed by cooling and rest, but individual tolerance varies considerably. Cold plunging is completely optional.

Please do not use the sauna or cold baths if you are under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs, feeling unwell, feverish or significantly dehydrated.

If you are pregnant, have cardiovascular or circulatory problems, uncontrolled high or low blood pressure, a history of fainting, or another medical condition that could be affected by significant heat or cold exposure, please seek appropriate medical advice before participating.

Participants should tell a member of the Stone Circle team immediately if they experience dizziness, nausea, unusual shortness of breath, chest pain, confusion, weakness or otherwise feel unwell.

Please wear footwear when moving around outside the sauna. The experience takes place on a working farm and the ground may be wet, muddy or uneven.

Under-16s may only attend with a parent or responsible guardian.

Please read before booking

Stone Circle is currently a pop-up, not a finished sauna facility.

There are currently no toilets or showers on site.

We want to be particularly clear about this before you book. Facilities are deliberately basic and the sauna sits in a field on a working farm rather than at a spa or leisure centre.

Expect grass, uneven ground, Scottish weather and potentially some mud. In return, you get something rather harder to find in a conventional spa: a wood fire, cold water, open countryside and Bennachie on the horizon.

By joining us at this early stage, you’re not only booking a sauna session. You’re helping us build what Stone Circle becomes next — while contributing directly to the rewilding and regeneration of the land around it.
