Join us for a multilingual open mic storytelling evening at the Sir Duncan Rice Library, in the heart of Old Aberdeen. We're travelling across cultures and traditions in search of strange creatures, mysterious animals and beings that inhabit the space between worlds. All languages are welcome.

🌎 We're eager to hear about traditions surrounding death and the passage from one world to another in your own cultures, as well as the fantastical beasts — unicorns, dragons, selkies, kelpies, mermaids and more — that inhabit your stories and folklore. From psychopomps — animals and other beings that guide souls on their journey to the Otherworld — to creatures that announce death, guard the boundaries between worlds, or are simply wonderfully fantastical beasts on the light side!

Bring a story from your own roots, or simply come along to listen and discover how different cultures have imagined these mysterious creatures. Everyone is welcome to contribute a tale, whether you're an experienced storyteller or sharing a story for the very first time.
