A 3-day detailed introduction into the laws and regulation shaping the UK’s offshore energy mix, organised by OEUK in partnership with CMS

As the UK offshore energy sector evolves, professionals across legal and business leadership need a clear understanding of the overall offshore energy legal and regulatory framework.

This three-day conference provides a practical, structured and authoritative overview of offshore energy on the UK Continental Shelf - covering oil & gas, offshore wind, hydrogen, CCUS and interconnectors - and the legal and regulatory foundations that underpin their development, delivery and operation.

Whether you are new to the offshore energy sector, transitioning from another discipline, or looking to strengthen your strategic understanding, this course equips you with the context, confidence and clarity needed to navigate a rapidly changing landscape.

Day 1 – Wednesday 2 September 2026 | OEUK Aberdeen

Setting the scene: the offshore energy mix and its regulatory foundations

Key project agreements and commonly used contract forms

Legal and practical interfaces between different offshore energy projects and technologies

Allocation of liabilities and use of indemnities

Environmental law and regulation, including climate change litigation risk

Health & safety obligations in the offshore environment

This day brings the law to life, showing how regulatory requirements translate into contractual structures and operational responsibilities across the offshore energy lifecycle.
