Join us for a fun day hunting wild mushrooms at Kirkhill Forest—nature, tips, and tasty finds!

Join us for an exciting in-person adventure exploring the Kirkhill Forest floor! We will look at two main types of wild mushrooms: edible boletes and edible gilled mushrooms (russulas, chanterelles and others). You will also get straightforward cooking instructions. Please wear comfortable walking clothes and boots/shoes, dress for the weather, bring a bag or basket for mushrooms, and water and snacks as required. Dive into the world of wild mushroom foraging at , where you'll learn to identify delicious and safe mushrooms straight from nature. Let's enjoy a day out in the fresh air!

Meeting point is in the forest car park (Kirkhill is on the north side of the A96, between the Dyce roundabout and Blackburn village. Slow down when you see the turn-off signposted for 'Kirkton of Skene' - The entrance to Kirkhill forest is opposite this).
