What to expect
Join artist Jess Wilson-Leigh for a relaxed workshop on the art of zine making.
The workshop will begin with a short introduction to the history of zine-making, different ways they are produced and can be made, and sharing some examples of zines that you can flick through for inspiration.
Jess will introduce simple zine-making techniques and provide a range of materials and creative prompts to help you explore ideas through collage, drawing, and writing. This workshop is inspired by the central themes of gardening, music, climate, and community. Jess will be available throughout to answer questions, chat, and provide ideas where needed.
No preparation or experience is required. All materials will be provided.

About Jess
Jess Wilson-Leigh is an Aberdeen based artist, designer and organiser interested in creating spaces that are rooted in care and community, often looking at the way food can be used as a touch point between people to nurture and offer support to others. Her practice is driven by ideas of friendship, storytelling, and collaboration. She has previously worked within collective Tactics for Togetherness and artist duo C(U)SP.
About Us
We’re CFINE (Community Food Initiatives North East) a local food charity who, among other things, loves to provide opportunities for people to connect with each other and nature through gardening and creativity!
We delivered Music in the Gardens throughout the summer of 2026, and are holding the project’s Finale production at the Envirolution Festival on 5th September 2026. The Finale production includes facilitating a programme of musical performances on the Garden Village stage at the Festival, and this zine-making workshop which reflects on the themes of our project.

This zine-making workshop is part of CFINE’s Music in the Gardens Finale production, taking place at Envirolution Festival in Seaton Park on Saturday 5th September.
Envirolution is a community-based and free festival dedicated to increasing understanding, connection, and engagement with the natural world. This is its third year running in Aberdeen.
