Join our National Park rangers for a fun hedge-laying taster session.

Learn the basics of this traditional craft to help restore our wonderful hedgerows.

The day will include an introduction to the tools that you use, why we do hedge laying, how this method restores hedgerows to their full glory, how you make the cuts and how to stake and bind the hedge together.

The session will be led by two of the South Downs National Park Rangers, who will take you through the steps stage by stage.

Please note that this session is not a formal qualification.

A packed lunch, safety goggles and gardening gloves (if you have them), waterproofs and sturdy outdoor boots. Teas and coffees will be available.
