Service leavers and veterans can get an insight into careers and opportunities with South Western Railway and Network Rail!

South Western Railway and Network Rail Careers Insight Event organised via the Careers Transition Partnership

Date & Time: November 25, 2026 at 9:15 AM (GMT)

Venue: Basingstoke Campus

Come hear firsthand from veterans about their journey working with both South Western Railway and Network Rail, and how they transitioned from the military to the railway industry.

You'll get a tour of the Rail Operations Centre Wessex Integrated Control Centre (depending on operational incidents), plus sections covering Engineering opportunities and insights into roles like Train Driver, Guard, and Rail Community Officer.

During the tour, you will attend a mini careers fair where managers and veterans will be on hand to answer your questions about the different roles and their experiences.

There’s also a chance to network and chat about the recruitment process and interview tips. A light buffet lunch will be provided, giving you more time to connect with the armed forces employee network members.
