Welcome! Join Folktales for New Scots by Beetroots Collective – a series of free, friendly art and storytelling workshops for adults.
Folktales for New Scots is about community and cultural exchange through local folktales and crafting. A creative meeting place for people from different cultural backgrounds – bringing together New Scots and more long-established Scottish residents. Whether you’d like to get lost in quiet print-making alongside others, or chat away with new people and share your culture, this is a space for meeting other locals and being creative together.
Who is it for?
Open to all community members aged 16+
We welcome New Scots - people with migration and asylum experience – and also ‘born and bred’ locals and long-established residents.
What to expect at the workshop on 9th September:
• A guided linocut printing workshop with Marta Adamowicz(Beetroots Collective: https://beetroots.org). Theme: Animals and Mythical Creatures
• A relaxed, welcoming space to create and connect
• All materials included, no experience needed.
About the workshops:
This is a series of workshops designed to build on each other. However, there’s no requirement to attend them all—everyone is welcome to join any session.
The project is funded by Creative Scotland National Lottery Fund.
