Introduction to Shamanism – A Journey Beyond the Ordinary

A full-day experiential workshop exploring shamanic practices, sacred connection, drumming, journeying and the wisdom of the natural world.

Step away from the noise of everyday life and enter a space of exploration, discovery and deeper connection.

Shamanism is one of humanity's oldest spiritual traditions, rooted in the understanding that we are deeply connected to the natural world, its rhythms and the unseen aspects of life.

This immersive one-day workshop offers an opportunity to explore shamanic practices in a welcoming, supportive environment. Whether you're completely new to shamanism or have already begun exploring your spiritual path, this experience invites you to move beyond simply learning about these traditions and begin experiencing some of their practices for yourself.

With two experienced facilitators and a maximum of just 14 participants, the day offers space for personal exploration, meaningful discussion, practical experience and individual support.

What Will We Explore?

Throughout the day, we'll introduce a range of shamanic concepts and practices, combining accessible teaching with guided experiential activities.

Our explorations will include:

Understanding Shamanism: Exploring its origins, principles and relationship with nature, spirit and the wider world.

The Shamanic Journey: Discovering how rhythmic sound and focused intention can support exploration of altered states of awareness, with opportunities to experience guided journeying.

The Power of the Drum: Exploring the role of rhythm, vibration and sound in shamanic practice.

Connecting with Nature: Developing a deeper awareness of our relationship with the natural world, its cycles, elements and symbolism.

Spirit Animals and Guides: Exploring the significance of animal symbolism, spiritual allies and intuitive connection within shamanic traditions.

Sacred Space, Intention and Ceremony: Understanding how intention, ritual and mindful preparation can support spiritual practice.

Grounding and Energetic Awareness: Exploring practical approaches to feeling centred, present and connected.

Integration and Reflection: Making sense of personal experiences and considering how the day's learning might enrich everyday life.

More Than Just a Workshop

This is not a day spent simply sitting and listening.

You'll be invited to participate in guided journeys, rhythmic practices, personal reflection and shared exploration, allowing you to develop your own understanding through direct experience.

There will be opportunities to ask questions, share insights if you wish, and explore the practices at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Who Is This Day For?

This workshop is particularly suited to those who:

Feel curious about shamanism but aren't sure where to begin.

Are drawn to drumming, journeying, nature-based spirituality or intuitive exploration.

Want to deepen their existing spiritual or personal development practice.

Enjoy learning through experience rather than theory alone.

Would value a small, supportive group in which to explore something a little different.

No previous experience is necessary. Just bring an open mind, curiosity and a willingness to explore.
