Summer holiday wakeups ahoy!

Are you looking for some FREE summer holiday fun for the kids???

We are excited to offer a kids' nature adventure session, thanks to funding received from The Kelburn Windfarm Trust.. in the beautiful grounds of Kelburn Estate!

AT THIS SESSION PARENTS / CAREGIVERS LEAVE CHILDREN WITH WOODLAND WAKEUP STAFF! The session is an opportunity for kids to play and explore while asserting their independence, resilience, social skills and creativity! :)

Although free / funded tickets are available thanks to our funders, we kindly ask that you make a donation if you are in a position to do so. Woodland Wakeup is a charity so relies on grant funding and donations to be able to run. A lot of work goes on behind the scenes to keep us going!

ACTIVITIES & BENEFITS

The session will include activities like using tools safely, identifying flora and fauna, hammocks and tree-swings, bush-craft and nature art, mindfulness, with lots of opportunities for unstructured play and exploring the woods. We will also build a fire together to toast some marshmallows and make some s'mores.

Children are encouraged to choose their own adventure: resilience, confidence, self-esteem, independence and many other qualities can be enhanced by this kind of session. We want to promote getting out into nature regularly to boost people's wellbeing, so that everyone is more able to thrive and be at peace with themselves in our chaotic and ever-changing world.

BOOKING

Booking in advance is essential.

Once you have completed your booking please ensure you put the date, times and location in your diary / calendar so you do not forget about the session. IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND PLEASE LET US KNOW so that the space can be used by someone else.

PARKING

Kelburn estate charges £7 per day per car in their carpark. Please make sure that you have paid at the entrance or in the shop if parents / carers plan to stay in the estate during the session.

If you are just dropping off and picking up then you do not need to pay but we kindly ask that you are only parked / waiting for a minimal amount of time.

SESSION LOCATION / MEETING POINT

We will meet at the Pyramid Stage, on the way towards the estate buildings from the car park. Look out for the the pink and green Woodland Wakeup flags and any signage. If you have walked into the estate / shop etc then you have gone too far.

The session will mostly take place in the woods behind the pyramid stage / car park on the left hand side if you are looking from the road straight up into the estate. However, we may go for a walk / explore the estate at some point in the middle of the session.

HILLS

The estate is very hilly with few flat areas and our site is very sloped and can be muddy so please be prepared and wear appropriate footwear.

SURVEY

We will send out a short feedback survey after the session for our funding report. This will support future funding applications. Thanks in advance for helping us out with this.
