The Beyond The Screen at Bath Film Festival event series will run in Bath in October 2026, with further details available on the festival's website.
This October, Bath Film Festival is going beyond the traditional cinema experience with their new 'Beyond the Screen' event series, teaming up with brilliant organisations across the city to explore the worlds, stories and ideas of their films through food, music, sport, performance and more. Fancy watching a Japanese food classic before sitting down to a bowl of ramen? Celebrating 100 years of Buster Keaton with live piano? Heading from a cult club film straight into a DJ set? Or watching Whip It before putting on a pair of skates yourself? FilmBath have got just the event for you... Beyond the Screen events include: Tampopo Supper Club (18 October): Film-inspired canapés, Jûzô Itami’s joyous Japanese food classic and a shared vegetarian ramen supper created with Bath Community Kitchen. 60 Years of Carry On Screaming at No.1 Royal Crescent (19 October): Presented by Reel Life Monsters and Project the Dolls, A gloriously camp anniversary screening in the Servants’ Quarters at No.1 Royal Crescent, followed by a discussion. The General & Live Piano (21 October): Celebrate 100 years of Buster Keaton’s silent comedy classic in the beautiful Holburne Museum Picture Gallery, accompanied live by pianist Dominic Irving. Derek vs Derek & Jamie's Farm (22 October): Two very different Dereks, one shared passion for the countryside. We’re pairing Derek vs Derek with a short film from Jamie’s Farm, followed by a Q&A with filmmakers Nicola Brown and James Dawson, Jamie Fielding from Jamie’s Farm and a local farmer. Bend it Like Beckham with Bath City FC Women's Team (23 October): The much-loved British classic at Bath City Football Club, alongside a new short documentary celebrating Bath City Women’s Team and a post-film discussion. Human Traffic & Leap and Dance Party (24 October): Experience the cult British club classic at Roseberry Road Studios, followed by a DJ set with Leap & Dance that takes us from the film straight onto the dancefloor.
