Dancing Through the Layers Exploring how subtle communication travels through the layers of the body Contact Improvisation Workshop with Richard Parker Dancing Through the Layers is an experiential Contact Improvisation workshop exploring the subtle communication that emerges through the body’s different layers in contact. Through elements of bodywork, touch research, and pathway exploration, we’ll investigate how intention, directionality, and movement proposals can be transmitted and perceived through the fascial network and deeper listening of the body. From these subtle exchanges, we’ll open pathways into supported flying and shared movement choices, exploring how we can follow, resist, redirect, or amplify what arises within the dance. Level Suitable for all levels. The workshop offers accessible ways into deeper listening and communication for those newer to Contact Improvisation, while providing rich material for more experienced dancers wanting to develop and deepen their practice.
