During the 2026 Heritage Open Days Festival join our expert English Heritage Volunteer on an exclusive tour of Stoney Littleton Long Barrow
Stoney Littleton Long Barrow is one of the country’s finest accessible examples of a Neolithic chambered tomb. Dating from about 3500 BC, it is 30 metres long and has multiple burial chambers open to view.
English Heritage will be offering exclusive tours of Stoney Littleton Long Barrow. Find out about the fascinating history of this site and the stunning landscape around it.
Tours will be held during the 2026 Heritage Open Days Festival, on 15 and 16 September at 10:30 am . The tours last approx 1 and half hours. Booking is essential.
There is a small free car park off Littleton Lane, approximately one mile from Wellow. Your tour guide will meet you at the carpark. Further information on directions can be found here https://www.english-heritage.org.uk/visit/places/stoney-littleton-long-barrow/
Please note the walk to the site is a moderate up hill 3/4 mile climb with several stiles to cross.
Sheep are regularly grazing the fields en route, so please keep dogs on a lead. Please arrive no later than 10 minutes before your tour is due to start.
