About: Come and explore your voice beyond conventional singing techniques with Mozambican artist Lenna Bahule VOICE AND CREATIVITY FROM AN AFRICAN PERSPECTIVE WITH LENNA BAHULE Who is it for? - Singers and vocalists - Choir members - Music students - Professional musicians - Actors and performers/dancers When: 14.10.2026 - 3:30pm to 5:30pm Where: Rise Frome - Whittox Ln, Frome BA11 3BY Duration: 2 hours Workshop session: Up to 30 people A participatory workshop with Lenna Bahule This workshop invites singers, dancers and movement practitioners to explore the voice beyond conventional singing techniques. Drawing on Lenna Bahule’s artistic practice, participants will engage with the voice as a instrument, a source of rhythm, and a powerful tool for creativity, expression and connection with one’s own musicality. Through guided exercises in vocal exploration, body percussion, improvisation and collective music-making, participants are encouraged to expand their musical possibilities, deepen their listening skills and discover new pathways for artistic expression. The workshop creates a supportive environment where curiosity, experimentation and play are valued as essential elements of the creative process. Rooted in both African traditional and contemporary approaches to vocal practice, the workshop offers practical tools that can be applied across a wide range of musical styles and artistic disciplines.
