About This Event

The Wiltshire & Swindon Youth Work Network is hosting a Youth Partnership Training Day at Trowbridge Town Hall in Bath. The event takes place on 28 September 2026 at 09:30. It is a free session intended for professionals working with young people to build relationships and share learning.

Join us for a day of training, learning and building relationships with others working with young people across Wiltshire and Swindon.

The day will focus on Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing and will feature six workshop sessions delivered by BSW CAMHS, Swindon and Gloucestershire Mind, Mighty Girls and Rag and Bone Arts, with attendees able to choose the sessions most relevant to their role and interests.

Workshop Sessions:

Understanding Children & Young People's Mental Health (BSW CAMHS)

Build confidence in offering early support and knowing when and how to involve others.

Working with Children & Young People in Mental Health Crisis (BSW CAMHS)

Explore how to respond effectively and compassionately in urgent situations. Reflect on our own responses to crisis work and develop greater self-awareness, resilience and strategies for working collaboratively across services.

Tackling Misogyny (Mighty Girls)

A session exploring misogyny and its impact on young people, with opportunities to discuss approaches and responses in youth settings.

Supporting Resilience, Confidence and Self-Esteem in Young People (Swindon & Gloucestershire Mind)

Explore approaches to supporting young people's self-esteem, confidence and resilience.

Vicarious Trauma and Practitioner Wellbeing (Swindon & Gloucestershire Mind)

Distinguish between stress and vicarious trauma and develop practical strategies to support our own sustainable mental health, resilience and wellbeing.

Creative Wellbeing Workshop (Rag and Bone Arts)

Reconnect with play and creativity through a series of fun, accessible activities designed to boost wellbeing and connection.

Panel Session: Why Youth Work Matters: Shared Reflections from Practice

Space to reflect on the moments that matter, the conversations, breakthroughs and relationships that remind us why this work matters.

Cake and Networking

Sessions will finish at 3.30pm but, if you're able to stay, please join us for an informal opportunity to continue conversations, share ideas and connect with others working with young people across Wiltshire and Swindon.

The Youth Partnership brings together voluntary, community and statutory organisations to strengthen, connect and champion youth work by building relationships between organisations, identifying shared priorities and enabling coordinated action.

Lunch and drinks will be provided. Please inform us when booking a place if you have any dietary requirements.

To help us include as many organisations as possible, please limit initial bookings to 1 or 2 people per organisation. We will review this and extend bookings if spaces become available. We are keen to have representation from as many groups across Wiltshire and Swindon as possible.
