A Quare Nicht: The Discover Ulster-Scots Series
An Evening with the Commissioner for the Ulster-Scots and the Ulster-British Tradition
Also featuring a variety of Ulster-Scots music.
📍 Discover Ulster-Scots Centre, Belfast
Join us for a Quare Nicht with Lee Reynolds, the first person to hold the post of Commissioner for the Ulster-Scots and the Ulster-British Tradition.
Since the office was created, there has been plenty of interest in what the Commissioner can do for our language, arts and culture. This is your chance to hear it directly. During the evening, the Commissioner will talk about:
The remit of the role: what the office was set up to do, and where its responsibilities begin and end
His agenda: the priorities shaping his work and where he is focusing his efforts
Education: his input so far into how Ulster-Scots is taught and supported in schools and learning
The long term: his plans and ambitions for the Ulster-Scots and Ulster-British tradition over the years ahead
The evening finishes with an open Q&A session, so bring your questions and put them to the Commissioner yourself.
All are welcome, whether you're a member group, a long-time enthusiast or simply curious. Tea, a warm welcome and good company guaranteed.
