Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training for anyone wanting to become a Suicide First Aider in their community.

ASIST Training Newtownabbey

Join us on November 16 and 17, 2026 at 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM (BST) at the Lilian Bland Pavilion for a world-renowned, expertly tested training that runs over two full days. This course will help you recognise suicidal thoughts in others and give you the chance to practice how to talk to someone about suicide. You'll also learn how to connect people with the right intervention resources.

We keep things informal and supportive, but please remember that suicide is a difficult and emotional topic. If you have had suicidal thoughts or have been bereaved by suicide within the past year, please get in touch with us first so we can chat and make sure this training is right for you at this time. You can contact us by emailing info@sdz.org.uk with your name and phone number and someone will be in touch as soon as possible.

In order to book your place we only ask for a small fee. This allows us to provide hospitality throughout the day, including scones and lunch. Please let us know when prompted if you have any dietary requirements.

By booking on the Monday you are agreeing to attend on both full days.
