An Irish fiddle workshop for adult players developing session confidence, repertoire and technique in a supportive and relaxed setting.

This workshop is designed for adult fiddle and violin players who would like to deepen their understanding of Irish traditional music.

As the first workshop after the summer season, this September session offers an ideal opportunity to consolidate repertoire, refine technique and strengthen confidence in Irish session playing after the summer Fleadh events in Belfast.

Across the afternoon, we will work through a carefully chosen selection of Irish tunes, using repertoire as a way to explore:

• Bowing and rhythmic lift

• Ornamentation and stylistic detail

• Session fluency and tune confidence

• Practical approaches to learning and practising tunes

The emphasis is on musical understanding, enjoyment and confident participation, with plenty of opportunity to play, ask questions and engage with other like-minded adult musicians.
