Do you like using technology to solve problems? Are you interested in solving a particular problem facing the current healthcare system? Or are you just curious about hackathons and coding?

👩‍💻Then join us for our one-day and one-stop-shop to solve your healthcare system’s problems at our MedTech Hackathon (No previous coding experience necessary!)

This event brings together students from healthcare (medicine, dentistry and nursing), business and technology to build solutions for current problems facing the healthcare system using technology.

And importantly, it’s aimed towards beginners who don’t have much hackathon/coding experience so that a widened range of people can attend!

☕️ Morning: talks from MedTech and Hackathon experts to get you off to a flying start including:

- a talk from Valerie Enoyam, a student who has MedTech internship experience

- a talk by Prof Michael Williams (Ophthalmology) on all things AI! (Or A👁️!)

- a talk by Prof Kevin Mulligan (Business) on how to make YOUR pitch stand out from the crowd!

☀️ Late morning/early afternoon: get into your teams and start plan solutions for your chosen systemic healthcare issue!

🌅 Late afternoon/evening: pitch your ideas to our judging panel from the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences, School of Computing and School of Business for a chance to become the winners of our Hackathon! (Think of it as the Apprentice- the MedTech edition!)

Prizes for the winning team include:

📚ReviseMLA subscriptions for all your exam needs

AND

🖥️ work experience at a local Belfast technology company (we need to keep some things a surprise for the day! 🤫)

💻We hope to get unlimited credits from Loveable AI (https://www.loveable.dev) available for attendees to use on the day and create working websites with no coding experience necessary!

Refreshments will be provided throughout the day.
