About This Event

On 30 November 2026, Andrew Cushin presents his debut solo show at Mama Roux's in Birmingham. The 25-year-old songwriter, celebrated as a major new talent by Noel Gallagher and Alex James, will deliver an intimate performance where the guitarist and vocalist blends soulful ballads with acoustic pop energy. Supported by production from the Music Factory team, the event promises to showcase the young Geordie's songwriting gifts in a warm venue atmosphere. Tickets are available from £20.

When a 25-year-old songwriter is heralded as a major new talent by two icons of British music, it’s time to take note. Noel Gallagher has not only championed the young Geordie, but he also produced and played guitar on his track ‘Where’s My Family Gone’.

Pete Doherty is similarly enamoured by Andrew’s flair for creating big anthems from songs which explore hefty social issues; first signing Andrew to his Strap Originals label and then taking him on tour with The Libertines.

Raised in the Newcastle suburb of Heaton, Andrew Cushin first made waves with his self-released debut single ‘It’s Gonna Get Better’. since then, Andrew Released his debut album ‘Waiting For The Rain’, which spent three weeks at #1 on the Official Independent Album Breakers Chart. He then signed to LAB records subsequently releasing official Top 40 album in ‘Love Is For Everyone’.

Hitting the road, he has toured arenas across Europe and North America as special guest to Louis Tomlinson; played big outdoor shows with Noel Gallagher, Paul Weller, Blossoms, Lathums and The Reytons; and completed an extensively packed UK and Ireland headline tour in 2023/24 and 2025 including a Hometown Newcastle City Hall show in October 2025

Andrew Cushin’s songs are full of astute observations and honest meditations about life’s day-to-day tribulations. But despite the weight of the subject matter, his music possesses a tangible sense of hope too.

He’s the product of his upbringing Newcastle, and fittingly the city is embracing him as one of their own. His hometown headline shows all rapidly sell-out, including gigs at The Boiler Shop and The Cluny as well as a benefit night for the mental health charity Mind.
