Join WiBA for an inspiring afternoon of art, conversation and connection at Ikon, one of Europe’s leading contemporary art galleries Enjoy a curator-led tour of Lines of Flight, the first major survey exhibition of British-Indian artist Balraj Khanna (1939-2024). Bringing together more than 40 paintings spanning six decades, Lines of Flight presents the most comprehensive overview of Khanna's remarkable career as a painter, writer and curator. The exhibition traces the development of his distinctive abstract practice, shaped by his childhood in Punjab, life in post-war Britain, and enduring fascination with the natural world. Through these works, Khanna explores themes of migration, Partition, identity and belonging. Following the 1-hour tour, there will be an option to head for a 'buy-your-own' drink at Medicine Bakery at Ikon, overlooking Oozells Square to continue the conversations with business contacts and friends old and new and enjoy one of Birmingham's most distinctive cultural destinations. We do hope you can join us for an afternoon of art, insight and networking at Ikon Gallery. This event is open to members at a cost of £10 and guests at a cost of £15 per person. Please arrive for a prompt 4pm start for our gallery tour. Booking terms and conditions Receipt of your booking whether by email or via Eventbrite indicates acceptance of liability to pay the attendance fee irrespective of whether you attend the event. Refunds may be requested after a booking has been made but approval of a refund will depend on whether WiBA has already committed payment to a venue. This varies from event to event. Please note that refunds are not paid on cancellations made less than 8 days before the event regardless. WiBA reserves the right to refuse admission if payment is not received prior to an event.
