Prepare to laugh, wonder and discover the extraordinary origins of Indian theatre in this captivating solo story-theatre performance.

What was the first production? Who was the first performer? The first director? First audience?

Acclaimed dancer and storyteller Ramaa Bharadvaj addresses these questions in this colourfully entertaining dance theatre show.

Drawing on the ancient Natyashastra, one of the foundational texts of Indian performing arts, Bharadvaj echoes the story using evocative storytelling, dance, expressive theatre, original musical soundscapes and humour.

Expect dance, drama, music, mischief and plenty of laughs as Bharadvaj moves between vivid storytelling and mesmerising dance.

"A lot of wisdom, creative thinking, imagination and detailed research! Loved it!" Uttara Asha Coorlawala (Curator – Erasing Borders Festival, New York)

“Ramaa Bharadvaj stole everyone’s heart with her brilliant storytelling, and dance - 75 minutes of nonstop knowledge and humor. Amazing production! I recommend everyone to see this”. Sukanya Shankar (Head, Ravi Shankar Foundation)
