We are hosting an informal gathering for anyone interested in exploring ideas outside of our usual social bubbles. Birmingham Beyond the Echo Chamber is a space for members of The Rational Discourse and Social Club to practice the art of conversation, specifically focusing on topics where people often find themselves entrenched in opposing viewpoints. This is not about trying to win an argument or change someone’s mind, but rather about better understanding the reasoning behind perspectives that differ from our own. Whether you consider yourself a moderate, a skeptic, or simply someone who enjoys a good-faith discussion, you will find a welcoming atmosphere here. We will meet at a local cafe to talk through a few pre-selected prompts, keeping the tone curious and respectful. It is a great way to meet new people in the community while sharpening our listening skills in the process. If you are free and want to join us for an evening of grounded, thoughtful talk, please add your name to the RSVP list. We look forward to seeing you there.
