The Jam released their debut single 'In The City' in 1977 on Polydor Records. Over the next five years The Jam became one of the most important groups that the UK has ever produced with #1 singles such as 'Start!', 'Going Underground', 'Town Called Malice' and 'Beat Surrender'.
Bruce Foxton was the bass guitarist on every recording The Jam ever made. He was also lead vocalist and songwriter on songs such as 'News of the World' (which is the theme tune to BBC's 'Mock The Week' TV show), 'Smithers-Jones', 'Carnaby Street' and more.
In 2027, Bruce Foxton will be celebrating 50 years of The Jam along with his band Mark Brzezicki (Big Country), Andrew Fairclough (Secret Affair) and Craig Joiner (Romeo's Daughter) along with very special guests.

Bruce Douglas Foxton (born 1 September 1955) is an English singer, songwriter, and musician. Foxton’s music career spans more than 40 years. He came to prominence in the late 1970s as the bassist and backing vocalist of the mod revival band The Jam. He occasionally performed lead vocals, such as on the songs “Carnaby Street,” “News of the World,” “David Watts,” and “Smithers-Jones.” After the band’s break-up, he pursued a brief solo career releasing one studio album, Touch Sensitive, in 1984.
