The property is only the beginning. Creating a successful children’s home involves much more than finding a house with the right number of bedrooms. You need to understand the intended service, the planning position, Ofsted registration, the location, safeguarding considerations, the care model, leadership, staffing and, most importantly, the needs of the children the home is designed to support. On Tuesday 8 September, Care Property Hub is bringing the property and care sides of the children’s homes sector into the same room for an evening of education, discussion, networking and live Q&A. Her session will help bring the care perspective into the property conversation and demonstrate why understanding children’s homes requires looking beyond the building itself.
