Join us for **CNCF Cloud Native Sustainability Month 2026 – Local Meetup Birmingham**, an evening dedicated to sustainable cloud native engineering, Kubernetes efficiency, GreenOps, observability, and reducing infrastructure waste. As cloud native platforms grow, so does the need to understand their environmental impact. From rightsizing workloads and improving resource utilisation to measuring energy consumption, engineers can play an important role in building more sustainable systems. Expect practical talks, community discussions, lessons from real-world implementations, and plenty of opportunities to connect with the Birmingham and West Midlands cloud native community. Whether you are already exploring sustainable infrastructure or just getting started, join us to discover how everyday engineering decisions can improve efficiency and support environmental sustainability. **What to Expect** * Practical cloud native sustainability talks and demonstrations * Kubernetes resource optimisation, rightsizing, and autoscaling * Energy monitoring and carbon estimation * GreenOps and its connection to FinOps * Efficient infrastructure and workload design * Lessons learned from real-world environments * Networking with local engineers and community members * Food, drinks, and community conversations **Agenda** **18:00 – Doors Open, Networking, Food & Drinks** Meet fellow attendees and enjoy informal conversations before the sessions begin. **18:30 – Welcome & Introductions** Introduction to Cloud Native Birmingham, Cloud Native Sustainability Month 2026, speakers, sponsors, and the evening agenda. **18:45 – Talk 1: TBC** Speaker and session details will be announced soon. **19:30 – Short Break** Networking and refreshments. **19:45 – Talk 2: TBC** Speaker and session details will be announced soon. **20:30 – Community Q&A and Open Discussion** An interactive discussion on sustainability challenges, engineering trade-offs, and practical steps teams can take to reduce waste w
