Beat the January blues with a Colmore Taster Tour! This January, Birmingham Colmore has teamed up with Southside District to bring you a series of foodie evenings celebrating Birmingham’s fantastic food and drink scene.

Each guided tour visits three local venues, where you’ll enjoy a delicious taster dish paired with a drink at every stop. Whether you’re discovering somewhere new, revisiting old favourites or looking for a unique Christmas gift, these tours are a brilliant way to explore the city’s vibrant hospitality scene.

Members of the Birmingham Colmore and Southside teams will guide you along the way, sharing their local knowledge and introducing you to some of the fantastic venues on our doorstep.

With just 20 tickets available for each Chinatown tour, places are limited, so book early to avoid missing out!

Explore Chinatown

Join us for another guided foodie adventure through Birmingham’s Chinatown, discovering three fantastic venues and sampling a variety of dishes and drinks along the way. From freshly prepared sushi to a shared feast of dim sum and delicious desserts, this tour is a chance to explore new flavours and experience the area's vibrant hospitality scene.

Your evening itinerary

5:30pm–6:15pm | Kyoto Sushi & Grill

Begin your evening at Kyoto Sushi & Grill, an all-you-can-eat Japanese restaurant serving a variety of freshly prepared dishes directly to your table. Enjoy edamame and a chef’s selection of sushi, accompanied by sake.

6:15pm–7:00pm | The Ivy Lounge

Next, gather around the table at The Ivy Lounge for a shared feast featuring a variety of dim sum and other favourites. The spread includes fried beef ho fun, Yangzhou fried rice, chicken spring rolls, prawn dumplings, deep-fried squid, siu mai, custard buns, char siu buns, crispy prawn toast, Cantonese BBQ pork pastry, egg tart and sweet and sour chicken.

Enjoy the feast with a beer or a glass of house wine.

7:00pm–7:45pm | Malaysian Delight

Finish your evening at Malaysian Delight, a much-loved Chinatown restaurant with more than 25 years of history, bringing together Malaysian flavours and Cantonese classics. Choose between mango pomelo sago or ice cream, accompanied by jasmine tea, for a sweet end to your tour.
