Come & Sing Brahms' German Requiem with Birmingham Bach Choir

Join us for a fun-filled singing event at Selly Oak Methodist Church in Birmingham! Together with the talented members of the Birmingham Bach Choir you can be part of this one-off performance expertly led by their Director of Music, Paul Spicer, and ably accompanied by Paul Carr.

Brahms's work uses scriptural texts focused on comforting the living and mourning the dead; the choral writing is massive, lush, and deeply emotional, featuring iconic movements such as "All flesh is as grass". The core message is universal peace and consolation, so how better could you spend an afternoon with both new and old friends in late January?

We will be singing the work in English; the afternoon's rehearsal starts at 2pm and is followed by tea and the closing performance.

Ticket price (£25 plus commission) includes music hire (to be sure we all have the same edition!) and, of course, tea with our famous homemade cake selection. There will also be a hamper raffle.

There is plenty of free street parking in the area.
