Volunteers help people through death, dying and loss. Compassionate Birmingham is gathering befrienders and end‑of‑life carers to connect.

There are a whole range of organisations and volunteers who support people across the City of Birmingham.

Compassionate Birmingham, a network of organisations focused on many of the social issues relating to death, dying, loss and care giving wants to bring together organisations and volunteers involved in activities such as befriending, companions, Soul Midwives and End of Life Care Doulas for a workshop.

The aim of this workshop is to:

Understand more about the befriending types of services across the City

How confident people are when befriending someone in the last months, weeks and days of their life,

Whether there are gaps in some communities and how we can better connect befrienders, companions, volunteers, Soul Midwives and End of Life Care Doulas support.

There are two workshops on the 17th September, for those interested in attending please choose the AM or PM session.

Workshops are free and open to all of those involved in activities such as befriending and companionship at the end of life, including roles such as Soul Midwives and End of Life Care Doulas.
