The documentary explores the story of João Cândido Felisberto, known as the "Black Admiral", who led one of the most significant episodes in Brazilian history. On 22 November 1910, approximately two thousand Brazilian Navy sailors, most of them Black men born shortly after the abolition of slavery, seized control of some of the nation's most powerful warships in Guanabara Bay. Triggered by the brutal flogging of sailor Marcelino Rodrigues Menezes, the revolt demanded an end to the use of corporal punishment and the discriminatory conditions that many sailors described as a continuation of slavery within the Navy.

Through historical accounts and contemporary reflections, the film examines João Cândido's leadership, the legacy of the Revolt of the Lash, and the ongoing significance of this struggle for justice, dignity, and equality.
