About This Event

This Is My Story, This Was My Life is a series of events in Birmingham on 19 September 2026. Admission costs £11.55 for the event at Grosvenor Road Studios.

"This Is My Story, This Was My Life" is a series of events sharing the lived experiences of black women, combined with music and visual arts

We provide a safe, creative space to share the lived experiences of six black women, interwoven with the healing power of live music and visual art.

Through photography, drawings, and our collaborative "Message to a Friend" canvas, we create a vital dialogue that builds community awareness and bridges the gap between advocacy and the creative industries.

Each event features:

2 Guest Speakers: Black women sharing powerful, real-life testimonies.

2 Musical Artists: Live performances ranging from singers and rappers to spoken word poets.

Visual Art Gallery: Showcasing stunning work by Black female artists.

Interactive Q&A: A dedicated session to discuss the themes of the night.

Networking & Celebration: Time to connect, support, and celebrate the brilliance of Black women.

Complimentary refreshments are provided at all events.
