Whether you’re looking for advice on your photography, want to try new equipment, or need help getting the most from your images, Wex Photo Meetups are an informal opportunity to ask questions and learn through practical sessions.

Ask the Expert

Bring your photography questions and get practical advice on camera settings, lenses, composition, lighting, technique and workflow.

Try Equipment on Your Own Camera

Get hands-on with a selection of cameras, lenses and accessories. Try equipment for yourself and see how it performs with your own camera system and shooting style.

Photo Critique Sessions

Bring along some of your favourite images and receive constructive feedback. We’ll look at composition, exposure, lighting and storytelling, with practical ideas to help take your photography further.

Improve Your Photography

Short, practical advice throughout the session covering camera technique, composition and creative approaches that you can put into practice straight away.

Print Your Image

Choose one of your favourite photographs and create a physical print to take home. Discover how your images look away from the screen and learn about preparing photographs for print.

Bring Your Laptop – Editing Help

Bring your laptop and some of your own images. We can help you work through your editing process, from basic adjustments and cropping through to preparing an image for printing or sharing.

What to Bring

Your camera and favourite lens.

Memory cards and spare batteries.

Laptop and editing software, if you'd like help with your images.

2–5 images for the photo critique.

An image you'd like to print.

Who Is It For?

All abilities welcome – from photographers just getting started to more experienced photographers looking for advice, inspiration or help with their workflow.

The aim is simple: bring your camera, bring your questions and leave with new ideas, improved images and something you've printed yourself
