About This Event

The 'What are you reading?' talk will be held on 19 October 2026 at the Birmingham & Midland Institute in Birmingham. The event is free to attend. The talk is in conjunction with the National Year of Reading.

Free Monday talk in conjunction with the National Year of Reading.

2026 is the National Year of Reading. Jenny Howe, from the Royal Literacy Trust and Samina, Honorary Librarian of the Birmingham and Midland Institute Library, will lead an hour discussing what we are reading, what recommendations we have, what discoveries we have made. Audience participation is anticipated, so come with information about your current read, or favourite book, or least favourite book. We will try and limit ourselves to the hour.

In conjunction with the National Year of Reading, this event is free to all. Just come along to reception 10 minutes before the start time.
