Celebrating 100 Years of the Diocese of Blackburn and Blackburn Cathedral

November 12th 1926 was the day the Diocese of Blackburn came into being and the moment Blackburn Parish Church was elevated to cathedral status.

Exactly one hundred years later the diocese will gather in Blackburn Cathedral with friends and guests from across Lancashire to celebrate this joyous milestone.

Clergy and representatives from every parish and school will join civic leaders, community representatives, special guests and members of our various communities and congregations to mark this historic occasion at a special Eucharistic Thanksgiving Service.

There is no charge to attend this service but please register for free tickets.
