About This Event

Cotton Town Bikes in Blackburn hosts a six-week basic bike maintenance workshop series. The sessions teach the skills and knowledge required to service and repair a bike. Tickets are listed as free.

If you want to learn the skills and knowledge to be able to service and repair your own bike then these workshops are for you.

Introduction:

This hands-on workshops are an ideal introduction to bike maintenance. They will give the learner the skills and knowledge to be able to carry out many routine bike maintenance jobs without the need for a trip to the local bike shop.

Who is this course for?

This course is ideal for home mechanics, volunteers or those considering a career in the cycle industry.

Prerequisites:

No previous experience required.

22nd July - The Basics

Degreasing, cleaning and lubrication

29th July - Bike Maintenance 101 - Wheels

5th August - Bike Maintenance 101 - Gears

Derailleur set up and gear indexing

12th August - Bike Maintenance 101 - Brakes

Brake calliper alignment

19th August - Bike Maintenance 202 - Drivetrain

26th August - Bike Maintenance 202 - Rotational Bearings
