Join us for our monthly foodie get together, this month we will be making pickles

Welcome to Culture Club

Inspired by an abundance of allotment grown cucumbers, Felix will show us how to make perfect(ish) pickles. This session includes lots of hands-on pickling fun, and the opportunity to take home a jar of your own pickles.

Culture Club aims to create a collaborative community, for sharing knowledge and experiences around food processing and production. This can be anything from curing and fermenting to foraging and preservation, there will be something for everyone.

This session will look at the method for pickling cucumbers, both a speedy version, and for long term preservation. Felix will be bringing some samples along to try, and you will be making your own jar of pickles to take home too. Should the cucumber harvest fail, we'll have an alternative common allotment vegetable to work with. We'll also be discussing various other methods of preserving gluts.

This session is in our upstairs workshop space. We have a lift! Otherwise it is fourteen steps turn a corner and two more steps. There is an accessible loo on the same floor.

GETTING HERE

Tram & Train to Blackpool North Station

Bus: No 6 or 18 to Topping St., No 3, 3a, 5c, 6, 18 to Church St (Stanley Buildings), No 5, 5a, 5b, 6, 7a, 14 to Talbot Rd

Driving: The closest pay and display car parks are on East Topping St and Talbot Road multi storey. There is also parking at the nearby Sainsbury’s supermarket, please make sure that you check the terms before you use the car park.

TOP TIP: If you need to park a car, then there is usually plenty of free on-street parking on Edward St and Topping St from 6pm.
